As I was getting ready to graduate from college, I made the comment that I could not wait to get out of the darkroom and start shooting color slides. An long time established photographer asked me; "Why? Exposing the film is only half the process of creating good picture!" I didn't understand it at the time and it was not until the advent of digital photography that I began to appreciate that statement; because, for the first time, I was able to apply all of the things I learned about photography in the darkroom, to color images.
It took me almost twenty-five years to appreciate his comment. Fortunately, it eventually "did" have an impact.
